My New Oven - Fast to cook .......
Yippee! the oven worked alright. But, the speed in which the tarts cooked was wow ... very fast - right, the first batch came out alittle too brown. Will bake some more, in the following days to come and get use to this portable oven. Keeping my fingers cross until then. Oh, by the way the dough is one month old (in the freezer since a week before Christmas) but still taste fresh when cooked. No discoloration or lesser taste. Deliciously good!! As my husband remarked - It's beginning to look like Christmas all over again and the family love that time of year.

What's Up?
Aah yes! - another bright and sunny day for my daily walk. Yesterday I tried to cut across the AVA grounds but instead made a round-about and came out further down the road instead , huh?? Today, not gaining enough courage to try another gate chose to walk along Bah Soon Pah Road instead where the flower gardens are. Made a walk around the park and then went to the supermarket. So far so good - still keeping to my schedule. Even managed to complete the rosary prayers along the way while passing some army boys on their morning runs. No distraction there. Hey, yesterday my husband bought me an electric bake, grill and oven toaster, remembering the tart dough which is left in the freezer since Christmas! Later today I think I will try the new oven.

To Mummy With Love ...
Yesterday after my doctor's appointment - went to my mum's home to fix a spotlight for her alter and changed her bathroom light fittings too. All this was done without her knowing that I was there with my husband (he's the one doing alll the changing). Boy! was she surprised upon her return from high tea. She had said that the lights were not working especially the bathrooms'. Everyday just before dusk she will automatically put the switch on for it takes a couple of hours before it will come on and since last Sunday it had not been working at all!! So - when she threw the switch on and found the room lighted up, she thought it must be her lucky day until she looked up and saw new light fittings!! Calling my home she also discovered that we had put in a new spotlight for her alter which is near the main door. She was over-joyed and very grateful for even though we seldom visited her while my other sibblings and their spouses were regularly there, none had rectiifed them for her. "Mummy, I have not much to give you, but just call us and we will be there for you always - Happy 73rd Birthday mum and may you have many more birthdays to come. We love you!" God bless and protect you always!

Why Me???!!
Oh darn it!?? First one wheel of my vacuum cleaner came off a few days after purchase. Then, the wire mysteriously winds itself back when you least expect it. This has caused many a near accident as the whole plug comes flying off the power point, snaking itself back into the vacuum cleaner. To-day, one side of the tiny wheel near the base of the suction brush flew off followed suddenly by the re-coiling of the wire and stretching of the hose to breaking point and kapoots!!!
The hose is broken at the top!!! Bad things sure do come in drones. Why me??? And now I really need to get another vacuum cleaner. Right from the start my children said, "Mummy this vacuum is lousy", for the hook where the handle was supposed to clip, broke immediately upon hooking the handle to it. Therefore, no standing of the vacuum was possible and this happened on the very first day of purchase. The next day, the extension rod started to break open like flower petals now all this! No more AKIRA vacuum for me!

A Lovely Feeling
All's bright and sunny this morn, aah ... so beautifully peaceful ! What luck no noise as yet. Seems luck's coming, in small numbers this 2008. Manage to strike 2 numbers in the 4-D playing i-bet. Slow and steady might win the race huh?? Yes, today I've decided to start clearing out the box of used bed, pillow and bolster cases and if time permits, my cupboard too. Trying hard to let go of the things of years gone-by. Some hold beautiful memories of my late father, others of the times of my youth - only the good ones though.
If one cannot let the things one love - go
Then no new things will enter through life's door
This is my belief and with this in mind
I feel very much relief

Good Morning Sleepy Heads !
Shucks! there goes the alarm!!! Another day has begun. Knowing that the smell of bacon and eggs at this hour of the morning is the best way to start my family's week, I hurriedly prepared their breakfast. With the strong smell of hot chocolate added to that,"oh! must get-up or will miss the food" - you can say everyone got up with no fuss at all. How amazing the whiff of bacon and eggs can do to one's mentality for a quick wake-up!! Haha it worked anyway. Everyone grabbed their packed food and water bottles, here a Kiss-kiss there a Ta-ta and they're OFF!! The petunias, four o'clock, japanese roses, desert roses, miniature sunflowers etc. in the planter boxes glow in myriad colours. Beautifully they present themselves this morning. Husband's gone to work, children left for school - secondary, tertiary and university. Now - my day starts ......
Up grading works - a headache
Rat-a-tat-tat continuously around my area for the upgrading works. What with the dust and dirt added to the drilling works. The noise is tolerable until the phone rings then no-one can make out what the other is saying. So shouting is added on the top of all the other noises. Seems all hell breaks loose then. No music can be listen to no TV to watch - for all will be lost amidst the noise and flurry of works.
Ahh ... peace and quiet reigns once again when lunch time comes around.
