Blissfulness

It's good to be able to blog again after my hiatus.
Today, nine(9) members of my husbands' family visited their elderly aunt, who's been residing for almost a year now, at this home for dementia persons. The first impression I had of the surroundings was the calmness and beauty of the gardens upon entering its electronically controlled gates. Security was not lacking as all visitors had to sign-in before proceeding to the residents' room. Chancing her in the visitors lounge together with another in-law, we joined them and shortly thereafter we made small talks and soon got her singing and reminiscing of days gone-by! All agreed that she looked much happier and was kinda chatty today than other times. Our visit soon came to a close as she was feeling tired and wanted to return to her room.
With a final hug and wave we went to sign-out and left for our homes. And yes ... dementia does make one move in and out in thoughts yet memories of bygone days always brings a smile to one's face ....
